The HelEOS gateway node converts a fiber based 10G Ethernet SFP+ signal into a coaxial RF signal. Usually a gateway node will be placed at the both ends of a HelEOS point to point connection. There are two versions of the Gateway Node a Near End (NE) and a Far End (FE) version. They differ just in the frequencies the system sends and receive in, as one system sends in the low frequencies and the other must receive in that frequencies and vice versa.
Additional to the functional versions ther is a addition Dual Gateway option.
The system was designed to operate parallel to existing DOCSIS and DVB-C services in a HFC access network.
This HelEOS Gateway Node product is available in the German BK format and the international used compact node enclosure (strand mount or street cabinet formfactor).
HelEOS BK Gateway
The HelEOS BK Gateway is designed to operate in the BK Network (Breitband Kabel, Broadband Cable). Is has 2 SFP+ Transceiver slots that provide Ethernet connectivity for both Data and Control plane. The F-connector provides the ultra high frequency connection with a diplxers that adds the HelEOS carrier onto the BK network. A RJ45 Ethernet or 9 pin port can be used al alternative management port for on-site torubleshooting. The 24Volt power connection is located at the front in order to provide easy access to the power supplies in the cabinet.
HelEOS Compact Gateway
The HelEOS compact Gateway is designed to operate in many different HFC housing formfactors. GiaX provides a compact housing for both the HelEOS Gateway as the HelEOS Relay product. The latter having two HelEOS Gateways in a single hardened compact housing. Due to the small formfactor the HelEOs Gateway can fit in most Node or Amplifier housing currently avaialble on the market. GiaX has a strategy to partner with 3rd party vendors to integrate the HelEOS gateway into their products. GiaX and Teleste have already announced the succesful integration of the HelEOS Gateway in the Teleste ICON9000 node.
The compact Gateway has 2 SFP+ Transceiver slots that provide Ethernet connectivity for both Data and Control plane. A SMB 75 Ohm connector provides the ultra high frequency connection with a diplxers that adds the HelEOS carrier onto the HFC network. A Giax Connector port can be used as alternative management connection and provides both USB and Ethernet connectivity via a custom adapter cable, this is typcially used for on-site troubleshooting. The 24Volt power connection is located at the front in order to provide easy access to the power supplies in the cabinet.
